HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has announced that it will now offer all pregnancy and birth education classes free of charge to expectant parents. This initiative aims to support expectant mothers and provide families with essential knowledge as they prepare for childbirth.
The hospital's prenatal education program includes a variety of classes such as Prepared Childbirth Classes, Breastfeeding Classes, Infant and Child Safety Class, Birth Circle Breakfasts, Parent Circle Support Group, and Guided Women and Infants Center Tours.
Tracy Mensing, Interim Manager of the Women and Infants Center at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, stated: “Our goal is to ensure that every expectant mom and their support person has access to the information they need to feel supported and ready for labor, delivery and life with a newborn.” She added that by removing financial barriers, more families might utilize these resources.
These classes are accessible to any expecting mother along with a support person, irrespective of their chosen delivery location. For further details on class schedules or registration information, individuals can visit hshs.org/st-elizabeths/classes-events.
In addition to educational resources, the hospital offers an Obstetric Emergency Department with 24/7 availability of a dedicated OB Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for continuous support.
