Rep. Mike Bost, who represents Illinois’ 12th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on his activities and upcoming events through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On July 14, 2025, Bost announced an opportunity for constituents to engage with him directly: "I'll be hosting a live telephone town hall at 6:15pm on Monday, July 21st. You can register at https://t.co/FDJJB0k8zI. Hope to hear from you soon as we cover my latest work for you in Congress and what the One Big, Beautiful Bill means for Southern Illinois."
A day later, on July 15, Bost highlighted his meeting with agricultural leaders: "It was great to meet with leaders from the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives today to talk about how we can keep Southern Illinois agriculture strong. We discussed protecting Section 199A tax relief for family farms, the next steps for the Farm Bill, and the urgent need to".
On July 16, Bost recognized a milestone for mental health support services: "Today marks three years since 988 launched as the 24/7 national Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Anyone in crisis can call 988 for free, confidential support. Veterans can press 1 to be connected directly with professionals at the Veterans Crisis Line, many of whom are veterans".
Mike Bost has represented Illinois’s 12th District in Congress since replacing Gerald Hawkins in 2015. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1995 to 2015 and served on the Jackson County Board between 1984 and 1988. Born in Murphysboro, Illinois in 1960, Bost continues to reside there today. He is also a graduate of the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy (1993).
