Rep. Mike Bost launches Southern Illinois tour promoting “One Big, Beautiful Bill

Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Congressman for Illinois' 12th district, has launched a tour across Southern Illinois to promote the recently enacted “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” which was signed into law by President Trump on Independence Day.

On August 11, 2025, Bost announced the start of his tour on social media: "Today I'm kicking off a tour across Southern Illinois highlighting the benefits of the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill.’ This landmark legislation, signed into law by President Trump on Independence Day, will help working families, small businesses, farmers, and local communities across".

Two days later, Bost provided an update from Jonesboro: "Started off my One Big, Beautiful Bill Tour in Jonesboro with Mayor Asa Busby, Sheriff David Wilkins, and State Rep. Paul Jacobs visiting local shops like Country Roads Flowers & Gifts and talking with small business owners about what the new law means for them. We've expanded". The post highlighted his meetings with local officials and business owners as part of efforts to discuss the impact of the new legislation.

On August 13, Bost also addressed concerns over postal operations in St. Louis following an independent audit: "The simmering frustrations of people in my district have been validated with today’s results of an independent audit of postal operations in St. Louis. Earlier this year, I appealed to the U.S. Postal Service for an audit of the St. Louis postal processing center because Southern".

Bost has represented Illinois’ 12th congressional district since defeating William L. Enyart in 2014 with just over half the vote share. He has consistently won re-election against Democratic challengers such as Charles Baricevic (2016), Brendan Kelly (2018), Raymond Lenzi (2020), and Chip Markel (2022), maintaining margins ranging from approximately 52% to 75% over his opponents.
