Illinois State Representative Kevin Schmidt visited the O’Fallon Public Library, where he met with library director Ryan Johnson to discuss the Illinois Secretary of State’s Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid Grants program. The O’Fallon Public Library is set to receive $47,626 from this program to support its general operations.

During the visit, Johnson mentioned that the library is planning a new military section. This section will include books on historical military figures and resources for military families.

The library also features a quiet room and a resource wall that provides information about local services. Additional community resources are available online at https://www.ofpl.info/community-resources.

Schmidt, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state's 114th House District, replacing previous state representative LaToya Greenwood.
