On September 4, 2025, Bost stated, "I voted in favor of the Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act this week to hold Chinese producers and officials accountable for the spread of illicit fentanyl. This legislation strengthens sanctions on those responsible and helps protect communities across Southern Illinois and our great".
The following day, on September 5, 2025, he posted about energy policy measures: "I voted this week to roll back three costly Biden administration energy rules that are driving up costs for working families and putting our energy security at risk. These measures will help reverse restrictions on American coal, oil, and gas production that have stifled jobs and".

Rep. Bost has represented Illinois' 12th district since first winning election in 2014 against William L. Enyart with just over half the vote. He subsequently secured re-election in every general contest through 2022 by varying margins: defeating Charles Baricevic in 2016 (54.3% to 39.7%), Brendan Kelly in 2018 (51.6% to 45.4%), Raymond Lenzi in 2020 (60.4% to 39.7%), and Chip Markel most recently in 2022 with a significant majority (75% to 25%).
