Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Congressman from Illinois and Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, has recently shared updates on legislative actions and personal achievements through his social media posts.

On September 8, 2025, Bost wrote, "I was proud to help President Trump deliver the largest middle-class tax cut in history, providing Illinois families a $13,500 increase in yearly take-home pay. Not only will you take home more of what you earn, but you’ll see no more taxes on tips and overtime, unprecedented tax".

The following day, September 9, 2025, he addressed federal policy regarding education benefits for undocumented residents: "The Justice Department is right to push back on Illinois’ new law that gives in-state tuition and scholarships to those here illegally while leaving law-abiding American citizens behind. Federal law clearly says that states cannot hand out education benefits based on residency to".

On September 10, 2025, Bost highlighted recognition received for his advocacy work: "I was proud to receive this week the Legislator of the Year award from Vietnam Veterans of America for my work advocating for our Vietnam-era veteran community. Bost has served as a representative for Illinois since first winning election in 2014 against William L. Enyart with 52.5% of the vote. He subsequently secured reelection in every cycle since then—defeating Charles Baricevic in 2016 with 54.3%, Raymond Lenzi in 2020 with 60.4%, Brendan Kelly in 2018 with 51.6%, and Chip Markel most recently in 2022 with a margin of 75% to 25%.
