Rep. Mike Bost shares updates on veterans' honor flight and industry meetings

Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Representative for Illinois's 12th congressional district, shared updates on his recent activities in Washington, D.C. and with constituents through a series of social media posts dated September 16 and 17, 2025.

On September 16, Bost highlighted his participation in an event honoring veterans: "Earlier today, I had the privilege of greeting another group of veterans as they arrived in Washington, D.C. on the Southern Illinois Honor Flight, a program that brings these heroes to the nation’s capital free of charge to visit their war memorials. Greeting and thanking a new" (posted September 16, 2025).

Later that day, he discussed a meeting with representatives from key industries in Illinois: "I met with members of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association today, including representatives from Boeing’s Mascoutah facility and Carbondale’s Intertape Polymer Group. We had a productive conversation about keeping supply chains strong and taxes low for working families and job" (posted September 16, 2025).

On Constitution Day, September 17, Bost reflected on the importance of the founding document: "Today is Constitution Day, a reminder of the sacred document that has kept our Republic strong for more than two centuries. The Constitution was written to protect the rights of the people and limit the power of government. When I took the oath of office, I swore to uphold it," (posted September 17, 2025).

Mike Bost has represented southern Illinois since first being elected to Congress in 2014. Over multiple election cycles—including victories against William L. Enyart in 2014; Charles Baricevic in 2016; Brendan Kelly in 2018; Raymond Lenzi in 2020; and Chip Markel in 2022—he has consistently secured re-election by significant margins.
