City of Edwardsville Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met Sept. 16

Here is the agenda provided by the commissioners:

A Special Meeting of the Board of Fire & Police Commissioners was called to order at four o'clock pm in the Edwardsville Police Department Conference Room on the Second Floor of the Public Safety Building with Board Chairman, John W. McCracken, presiding.

A quorum of the Board was declared present with the following Commissioners in attendance: John W. McCracken, John Cunningham, Mary Ann Harris, Jean Hughes and Roger L. Huber. Also attending: Director of Police, Mike Fillback, who served in an adjunct capacity.

At 4:00 p.m., Commissioner Hughes made a Motion to re-convene in Closed Session seconded by Commissioner Harris, for the purpose of conducting Pre-Employment Oral Interviews to those applicants generally believed to be bona fide candidates for the rank of Probationary Patrol Officer with the Edwardsville Police Department. Motion carried.

The following individuals were presented with a series of scenario-based questions by Commissioners in a "round-robin fashion" to determine how they think, how they problem solve and how they might respond to situations they could face on the job.

➢ Ryan Cross

➢ Jason Cousineau

➢ Amanda Kuhn

➢ Chloe Whited

➢ Gasan Rakhimov

At the conclusion of this date's Oral Interviews, Commissioners deliberated the strengths and weaknesses of the entire list of Applicants and tallied the results of their scoring to determine which candidates would be considered for further Pre-Employment Background Examination and possible selection for full-time employment.

At 7:30 p.m., Commissioner Harris arose from Closed Session and made a Motion to reconvene in Open Session to declare the results of Scoring to establish an Initial Hiring Eligibility Register (which follows) to the rank of Probationary Patrol Officer. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the Motion, which carried without dissent.
