Resurfacing taking place on U.S. 20 in Winnebago County: 'Motorists can expect delays'

Resurfacing is currently underway for U.S. 20 at Keith Road in Winnebago County, with the work zone taking place 1.5 miles west of Winnebago, according to a release by State Senator Brian Stewart.

McClure bill allowing DCFS workers to carry pepper spray passes Senate

Sen. Steve McClure was appalled when he heard about the murder of constituent Diedre Silas of the Department of Children and Family Services while on duty in Sangamon County. Now he has sponsored bi-partisan legislation that gives DCFS workers the ability to carry pepper spray he said could have helped fend off her attacker.

Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker recently unveiled his proposed budget for fiscal year 2023. It totals $112.5 billion with $45.5 billion in spending from the state’s general fund. This accounts for a 3.4% decrease from last year.
