Urbana offers new edition of free tree care guide

Underthecanopyimage

The City of Urbana, Illinois has just released its second edition of "Under the Canopy: Creating Personal Greenspace," a guide for selecting, planting, and caring for trees.

The first edition of Under the Canopy was published in 2007. The new edition includes a variety of tips and how-tos from professionals throughout the state for developing a home or neighborhood landscape. The guide can also be unfolded to reveal a full color poster of 31 new, lesser known, or native trees that will work well in the Urbana area.

Residents can find the guide at Urbana City Building, Urbana Public Library, Urbana Public Works, and Common Ground Food Co-op free of charge.
