The City of Edwardsville, Illinois City Council met recently to discuss a number of new initiatives.
The agenda included petitions and communications, such as a conversation on the Plan Commission regarding the Final Plat of Ridgeview Manor Subdivision, as well as health-care initiatives.
On the health-care front, the council discussed the Group Health Insurance Fund Report. It additionally deliberated on an employee health-care renewal with Coventry Healthcare for 2016.
The agenda was not just inclusive of the November 17 meeting, but included highlights of upcoming Finance, Public Service and Administrative and Community Service Committee meetings. A major approval was on the agenda for the Public Service meeting, considering the installation of five streetlights into the Municipal Streetlight System on Cloverdale Drive and Nickel Plate Trail.
The final agenda item, based around the Administrative and Community Service Committee, involved an ordinance authorizing the trade in and destruction of surplus property owned by the City of Edwardsville, including 10 hand guns and eight long guns. These were of no longer use to the agency.
