Village of Glen Carbon Board met recently to discuss community affairs

Veteransday

The Village Board for Glen Carbon, Illinois met recently to discuss community issues including the unveiling of brick paver installments with names of military veterans.

The meeting began with an announcement for the Sixth Annual Scarecrow Contest. The contest was held on the 15th of October. Various winners for different categories were announced at this meeting.

The Board then turned to Veterans Day discussions, mentioning that American Legion Post 435 and VFW Post 2222 would conduct pre-Veterans Day services at the Glen Carbon Veterans Monument on November 8. Names of veterans from the area would be written on new brick pavers.

Additional items of note included a presentation by Good Energy, as Steve Bryant and Philip Carr recapped energy rates since the Village locked in the 4.66 cents per Kwh in 2014. This rate continues until June 2016.
