The City Council for the City of Edwardsville, Illinois met recently to discuss monthly reports, liquor licenses and other timely issues.

The council started the meeting by assessing activity and financial reports. These included reports of elected and appointed officials, a monthly financial report by the City Clerk, a monthly activity report by the clerk, and reports by the Fire Chief and Public Works Director.

During the executive session, City Clerk Dennis McCracken confirmed a recent poll to approve a liquor license, labeled as a Class F Special Use Liquor License for Bin-51, for the “LeClaire Parkfest.” The festival was held at LeClaire Park in Edwardsville.

The council also covered two additional items of note. A motion carried to award the bid for SIUE Campus Fire Station to L. Wolf Co., Inc., of Granite City for $2.9 million. Another motion carried to amend an ordinance that adds territory in Pontoon Beach to the Gateway Commerce Center Enterprise Zone. This new ordinance adds an additional 20 acres.
