Madison County Board will meet to review county appointments and other county issues

The Madison County, Illinois Board will meet on Dec. 16 to go over county appointments, the 2016 holiday schedule and other important county issues.

The meeting will begin with a discussion on appointments for county positions. John Hopkins will be recommended for the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau. Jeff Scholebo will be recommended for appointment to the Mitchell Fire Protection District. James Gray will be endorsed for reappointment to the Madison County Housing Authority. Ron Parente will be recommended for reappointment for the Madison County Park and Recreation Grant Commission. Frank Laub will be endorsed for reappointment to the Metro East Sanitary District. Mark Ringering will be recommended for reappointment to the Sheriff’s Merit Commission.

After discussing the 2016 holiday schedule, the board will hear a report on the historical museum progress and then turn to various subcommittee issues. The executive committee will go over a resolution concerning wages for non-bargaining unit employees. The grants committee will cover a resolution authorizing a park and recreation loan to the Village of East Alton. The planning and development committee will go over a resolution to authorize a green school program funding for the fiscal year 2016.
