Paul Oller, mayor of Roxana, Illinois, said during a recent meeting of the village council that the state's attorney general will not file charges related to missing guns at the South Roxana Police Department.

The mayor said he was informed of the state's decision in a recent letter.

During the meeting, held on Dec. 7, the council also approved a contract with Scheffel Boyle for the 2016-18 audit. Members also voted to proceed with annexation of 4548 Wagon Wheel. The village will pay the plat fees for the project.

Council members also authorized the treasurer and clerk to change banking institutions for the village from Illinois Fund to a yet-to-be determined institution, with the goal of finding the most cost-effective local institution.

The Roxana Village Council is presided over by the mayor. Members include Marty Reynolds, Jack LaTempt, Patricia Ford, Steve Giddings, Rob Kelly and Mark Diveley.
