The Alton Civil Service Commission reviewed various application processes at recent meeting

The Civil Service Commission for the City of Alton, Illinois met recently to discuss various application processes.

The commission reviewed the application process for Firefighter, Fire Engineer, Code Inspector and Jailer positions. It also noted that after the meeting, interviews would be held for the Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator V position.

The meeting was held at Alton City Hall, 101 E. Third St.

The Civil Service Commission makes rules to examine, qualify and certify all applicants to the city’s Civil Service. It investigates removal or suspension of employees and makes reports and other duties as set forth by law. The commission classifies all positions in the city’s service that are subject to the provisions of the Civil Service Statute.

Terry Bristow is the committee chair. Committee members include Vicki Searles-Williams and David Goins. Its attorney is Rodney Caffey.
