The Alton Civil Service Commission recently met to assess the application process for various positions.

The Civil Service Commission for the City of Alton, Illinois, recently met to review the application and testing process for jailer, firefighter, fire engineer and police promotions.

After the meeting itself, the commission interviewed for various police officer, code inspector and jailer positions.

Also of note at the meeting was the review of a letter commending three officers of the month from the police department.

Civil Service Commission members present at the meeting included Terry Bristow and Vicki Searles-Williams, in addition to Human Resources Director Amanda Scoggins and Civil Service Attorney Rodney Caffey.
