Glen Carbon Community Events Committee discusses 2016 Homecoming in detail

Bottles

The Community Events Committee for Glen Carbon recently convened to discuss details of the 2016 Homecoming event.

The committee first discussed alcohol sales, with member Scott Slemer announcing a proposed contract for 50 cents a bottle, which would be a 75/25 profit and an improvement on the 60/40 profit of years past.

The committee then discussed vendor contracts, with member Carson Maricle announcing that not many had been received. A gentleman that makes balloons at a local restaurant is available for Homecoming for $90 an hour. On the sponsorship front, member Becki Blankenship claimed that $4,425 had been collected from platinum sponsors.

The final discussion on homecoming centered on the note that the board approved the budget.

Present at the meeting were Maricle, Blankenship, Slemer, Geri Kraus, Jean Sommer, Ashley Mabry, Andrew Gipson, Colleen Lyerla, Keith Schmidt and Naciye Landin.
