The Edwardsville Council recently presented Joyce Schrader with the “Partnership in Excellence” award and discussed a summary of the police award ceremony held earlier in the month.
The “Partnership in Excellence” award was delivered by Mary Weishaar from the International Hospitality Program at SIUE. Schrader received the award for her time and talent in improving the lives of international students as they transitioned to the United States.
Director of Police Jay Keeven discussed the recent police award ceremony, where four categories of awards were given out.
Sergeant Timothy Gallion, Officer Andrew Feller, Officer Anthony Dietz, Officer Matthew Evers and Officer Conor Hoyland received the Unit Award. Lieutenant Michael Fillback, Officer Matthew Evers, Officer Andrew Feller, Officer Kimberly Reiniger, Officer Jason Penick and Telecommunicator Brenton Hurst received the Second Unit Award.
Sergeant Mathew Breihan, Sergeant Brandon Whittaker and Officer Andrew Feller received the Life Saving Award. Sergeant Michael Lybarger, Detective Jacob Germann, Detective Derrick Fitzgerald and Special Agent Matthew Senci received the Medal of Valor.
