Alton Committee of the Whole to examine resolutions

Meetings

Alton's Committee of the Whole will meet Monday to examine a resolution that would allow the Public Works, Police and Fire Departments to temporarily close a portion of Fourth Street on May 7 for the Marquette Catholic High School Fun Run & Walk.

The committee will also tackle a few other resolutions at the meeting: One resolution would establish a “no parking” zone on both sides of the alley that runs in a westerly direction from Hayden Street.

Another resolution would approve everyday expenses of the city until a new budget gets passed, while a third resolution would amend the city’s animal control ordinance so that community cats could be taken in and sterilized, vaccinated and returned.
