Metro-East Montessori School in Pontoon Beach, Illinois has won a grant worth more than $40,000 to buy robot-building equipment and other high tech tools.
The school was chosen by the 2016 Innovative Technology Education Fund as one of this year's winners.
The school plans to use the grant to buy a variety of equipment that will allow students to build robots for school and farm use, and also learn computer coding.
The shopping list includes a 3D printer, Tetrix Prime Robotics equipment, laptops, Vernier probes, a digital microscope, DNA gel electrophoresis equipment, an incubator for biological samples, two pottery wheels, a kiln, and other scientific equipment.
