Southern Illinois-Edwardsville senior defender Austin Ledbetter recently attended the 2017 Major League Soccer Player Combine, according to www.siuecougars.com.
Ledbetter's invitation made four Cougars who've been asked to attend the event in the last three seasons.
Matt Polster and Christian Volesky were invited to the 2015 Combine, and Justin Bilyeu went to last year's event. Polster, Volesky and Bilyeu were first-day selections by MLS teams during the SuperDraft in their respective years.
The Combine, which will have 53 NCAA Division I players in attendance, was Jan. 8-12 in Los Angeles. At the event, according to www.mlssoccer.com, the invitees were divided up into four teams, which were coached by college and MLS Academy personnel.
The MLS SuperDraft took place Jan. 13 in Los Angeles.
Ledbetter was the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year this season.
