Village of Swansea Board of Trustees met June 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Attendees: Trustees Lanter, McGuire, McDonald, Neumeyer, & Wells, Police Department (PD) Deputy Chief Craig Coughlin, Administrator Lyndon Joost, Village Clerk O'Neill (prepared minutes), other community members, Absent: Board President Leopold, Trustee Pulley. The Trustee names in motions are presented with the individual that made the motion listed first, followed by the individual that seconded the motion. Support of members includes those present. The items outlined below were discussed.

In the absence of Board President Leopold, a motion was made by McDonald, Neumeyer, and supported by the Trustees to have Trustee Wells chair this meeting as President Pro-Tem.

Call to Order, Pledge Allegiance to the Flag, and Trustee Roll Call

Public Comment - No comments were heard.

Proposed Hiring of Employees - Civilian Police Aides recommended to be hired with start date of 6/21/17 included Sarah Alvarez on a full-time basis, and Catherine Hood, Monica Allen, Danyel Bagby, Alexia Noggle, and Craig Blomberg on apart-time basis. Handouts provided information on the candidates' education and experience, the proposed work schedules for the week of 6/26/17-711/17, and the basic job descriptions. It was noted that drug tests and physicals are expected to occur this week. Coughlin was asked if other departments have civilian police aides and he responded yes, Lanter reviewed that the budget provided for the costs associated with the hiring of the civilian police aides. Motion by Lanter, Neumeyer, and Trustees' roll call votes of aye supported the proposed hiring of the civilian police aides discussed and outlined in the handout materials.
