Rep. Mike Bost, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 12th district since 2015, recently used his social media platform to address concerns about foreign ownership of American farmland, upcoming constituent events, and veteran resources.

On July 19, 2025, Bost expressed concern over foreign entities purchasing U.S. farmland, writing: "We cannot allow foreign adversaries to quietly buy up America’s farmland and threaten our food supply and national security. These hostile regimes are not just buying property; they are positioning themselves to undermine our economy and control key parts of our food system. I".

He continued engaging with constituents on July 21, 2025, announcing a public event: "REMINDER: Tonight at 6:15pm I'll be hosting a live telephone town hall. Later that day, Bost shared information relevant to veterans in Southern Illinois: "To Southern Illinois veterans attending the Du Quoin State Fair: the Marion VA will host a Veteran Resource Fair on July 25th from 11am to 2pm at the Second Heat Annex on the State Fair Grounds. Mike Bost has represented Illinois’s 12th District in Congress since replacing Gerald Hawkins in 2015. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Illinois House of Representatives for two decades and was a member of the Jackson County Board during the late 1980s. Born in Murphysboro, Illinois in 1960, Bost still resides there today and is an alumnus of the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy.
