City of Alton Alton Amphitheater Commission met September 5.
Here is the minutes as provided by the commission:
Members Present: Robert Stephan, Michelle Brooks, Ruth Birmingham, Jay
Hollinger, Robert Stephan and Brett Stawar.
Members Absent: Karen Brncic
Ex-Officio and Guests: Kirby Ontis, Jarvis Swope and Anthony Booker.
Robert Stephan called the meeting of the Alton Amphitheater Commission to order at
4:38 P.M., on September 5, 2017, at Alton City Hall, 101 E. Third Street, Alton, Illinois.
Michelle Brooks made a motion to approve minutes from the last meeting, Dan Herkert
made a second. Motion carried.
No Financial accounts were presented by the city. Requests for payments were made for
wireless invoices in the amount of $1,066.26. Dan Herkert made the motion to approve
payment. Ruth Birmingham made the second. Motion Carried.
Ruth Birmingham made the motion to approve Chez Marilyn payments ($463 for July 4;
$483 for Air Supply and $511 for Better than Ezra. Dan Herkert seconded the motion.
Motion carried. Michelle Brooks made a motion to approved payment for t-shirts to
Logo It for 1,010.55 for the Jazz shirts and $2,768 for the Expo shirts. Dan Herkert
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
In addition, Food Truck Beverage sales were discussed. No motions made.
Dan Herkert made a motion to approve weddings at 4:30 p.m. on 10/21/17, 4/21/18 and
10/5/18 and the Domestic Violence Walk on 10/12/17. Ruth Birmingham seconded.
Motion carried.
Dan Herkert made a motion for a 2nd hold on the relay for life on 6/15/18 and a decline
for the YWCA event and a hold for the summer sunset concerts on 9/10/17. Michelle
Brooks seconded. Motion carried.
Discussion ensured on the SSP Feed the Need event for 10/14/17 and it was the
consensus that they could bring their own food.
Stephan mentioned the need to review and get new RFP for promoter if needed by
October. No promoter or public reports.
Dan Herkert motioned to adjourn the meeting at 5:30 p.m. Michelle seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
