Hard Road Theatre in Highland will is scheduled to stage five performances of its winter musical, “Breaking Up is Hard to Do,” this month.
The performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19-21 and 26-27 at Highland High School, 12760 Troxler Ave., the theater's website said.
The musical features the music of Neil Sedaka, including the title song and other hits such as “Sweet Sixteen,” “Calendar Girl” and “Love Will Keep Us Together," TheatricalRights.com said. The story is based on two friends, Lois and Marge, during Labor Day weekend in 1960 at a Catskills resort as they look for fun and love. The trip originally was planned for Marge's honeymoon until her fiance left her, and Lois tries to get her together with the resort's singer.
