City of Alton Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee met Jan. 9.

Members present: Alderman David Boulds, Wayne Politsch Deanna Barnes-DD of Dev, Randy Hausmann, Nick Johnson
Deanna: Notes on environmental Madison County grant program for funding. will apply for park usage & mulching. Deanna & Wayne attended the County meeting in December. Our committee should apply next year. bike trail planning to Gordon Moore Park? Granite City “cool cities” received one of the grants last year.
Meeting dates were approved for 2018 -first Tuesday of each month, 4:00PM/City Hall. Nick: solar thoughts. NOAA 300 billion $$$ from climate issues. How do we educate & promote solar use? National Solar/Illinois Association could come and talk. Who has the list of home owner/business in Alton (two) ?.Illinois tax incentives.Straight up Solar invite them to talk.private & public solar generation.tax incentives plus kilowatt price.
Sunerg Corp ( Dr. Wu).Randy will continue the process/ members check internet site. Ameren Act on Energy - how has it changed (Nick will check)?
Jeff will correspond with another solar company for community solar plans.
