City of Alton Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee met February 12.

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

Members present:      Alderman David Boulds, Jeff Dale, Nick Johns

Deanna reported on the Small Business Revolution an invite the committee to attend tonights meeting “What’s Up Downtown”. Gave instructions on how to vote daily on line. Dave noted “green city” sign on the East side needs to be straighten.

Nick reported on Ameren’s Business Efficiency program including the incentive system for purchases (lighting, HVAC) - includes some of the materials covered in the October 2017 joint meeting.

Nick contacted Nate Keener (LCCC sustainability person) on the solar program in Madison County with Straight Up Solar for home installations- 38 properties with about 300 kilowatt capacity now exist. Nick is a member Illinois Solar Association.

Nick continues to connect the dots of the bike pathways Near Elsah & River Road. Deanna noted the up coming public meeting by Heartland Conservancy bike plan for Alton in April.

Nick will send out materials on the Sustainability Conference 3 day session (April) at Principia - will have several keynote speakers.
