Analysis: Jerseyville pays $5.63 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Jerseyville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.9 percent of the $596,342 the Jerseyville Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.63 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Jerseyville contributed $506,171 to the fund, which saw a $189,787 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $89,791, or 15.1 percent, in 2016. Another $380 came from other unspecified sources.
