Analysis: Edwardsville pays $4.26 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Maryville Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.9 percent of the $432,511 the Maryville Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.26 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Edwardsville contributed $350,036 to the fund, which saw a $31,556 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $82,102, or 19 percent, in 2016. Another $373 came from other unspecified sources.
