Analysis: Swansea pays $5.13 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Swansea Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.7 percent of the $975,593 the Swansea Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.13 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Swansea contributed $816,678 to the fund, which saw a $67,534 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $158,915, or 16.3 percent, in 2016.
