Report: Cahokia spent $14,612 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Cahokia Unit School District 187 is up 0 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the St. Clair County school district spent $14,580 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $14,612 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3983 to 3371.

Cahokia's spending in 2016-17 was 13 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
