Report: Wood River Hartford spent $9,088 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Wood River Hartford School District 15 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Madison County school district spent $8,559 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,088 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 816 to 753.

Wood River Hartford's spending in 2016-17 was 30 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
