Report: Belleville spent $12,285 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Belleville Township High School District 201 is up 1 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the St. Clair County school district spent $12,104 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,285 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 4837 to 4860.

Belleville's spending in 2016-17 was 5 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
