Report: East Alton-Wood River spent $14,363 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at East Alton-Wood River Community High School District 14 is up 13 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Madison County school district spent $12,729 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $14,363 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 549 to 554.

East Alton-Wood River's spending in 2016-17 was 11 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
