Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 issued the following announcement on May 11.
Collinsville Middle School Advanced Health students had a visit from the Pediatric Transport Flight Team from SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
Flight Nurse Toni Clark, accompanied by Fight Respiratory Therapist Leighanne Smith, shared information about their jobs and explained how patient air transport works. About 15 minutes into the presentation, the helicopter arrived in the field behind the school.
Students took turns boarding the helicopter to see the working conditions and equipment used by the team. The visit was one of the 8th grade class’s career exploration opportunities.
