Holiday Shores Fire Protection District responded to 23 calls in 2017 - 4.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Holiday Shores included 15 fires - eight structure fires, two vehicle fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $25,400 in fire loss - or about $1,693 per fire.

The department also received eight false calls.

The Holiday Shores Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $165,833 in 2017.
