Hecker Fire Protection District responded to 19 calls in 2017 - 26.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hecker included 15 fires - six structure fires, four vehicle fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $5,900 in fire loss - or about $393 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.

The Hecker Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $106,630 in 2017.
