Fairview-Caseyville Township Fire Protection District responded to 236 calls in 2017 - 6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Fairview-Caseyville included 77 fires - 33 structure fires, 13 vehicle fires and 31 other fires.

In all, the department saw $224,939 in fire loss - or about $2,921 per fire.

The department also received 159 false calls, including four malicious calls and 155 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.

The Fairview-Caseyville Township Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,417,508 in 2017.
