How much has Triad CUSD 2 overspent over the past 10 years?

Triad Community Unit School District 2 accumulated $52.23 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Triad CUSD 2 reported 14.5 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went down 42 percent. The resulting deficit shrunk by 99.7 percent from 2008 to 2017.
