How much has Millstadt CCSD 160 overspent over the past 10 years?

Millstadt Community Consolidated School District 160 accumulated $11.39 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Millstadt CCSD 160 reported 10.7 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went down 21 percent. The resulting deficit shrunk by 80.8 percent from 2008 to 2017.
