Central School District 104 students suspended 30 times in a single school year

Central School District 104 reported 30 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 30 students during the year. That equates to 4.8 percent of the 628 students enrolled.

Of the 20 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for violence that caused physical injury. The category includes 13 incidents. There were seven incidents of unspecified reasons. For 11 incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.

Of the 10 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence that caused physical injury. The category includes six incidents. There were four incidents of unspecified reasons. For 10 incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
