The district transferred five students to another program instead of suspending or expelling them.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 418 students during the year. That equates to 8.6 percent of the 4,860 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for one incident with drugs and one incident with unspecified reasons.
Of the 416 out-of-school suspensions, 263 were given to boys and 153 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 355 incidents. There were 53 incidents of drugs. For 168 incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
