Report: Belleville spent $12,972 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Belleville Township High School District 201 is up 12.6 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Saint Clair County school district spent $11,516 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,972 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5004 to 4735.

Belleville's spending in 2017-18 was 2.7 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
