Report: Edwardsville spent $8,992 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Edwardsville Community Unit School District 7 is down 0.5 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Madison County school district spent $9,036 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,992 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 7611 to 7531.

Edwardsville's spending in 2017-18 was 32.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
