Administrators in Roxana Community Unit School District 1 earn an average of $113,002 per year, ranking 193rd out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 17% higher than in 2014 and 13.6% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 5.3% more than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Madison County school district enrolled 1889 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 199 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
