Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 issued the following announcement on Feb. 14.
February 2019 – Third Graders at Renfro Elementary School use virtual reality headsets to explore animal habitats and adaptations.
The VR headsets are new technology acquired by CUSD 10 to allow students to take virtual field trips. Lessons are planned and guided by a teacher from a central computer control screen.
The headsets are currently “on tour” with scheduled appearances at all of the district’s elementary schools.
VR is a permanent resource for teachers to reserve through the district’s STREAM (Science Technology Reading Engineering Art & Math) program.
