East St. Louis School District 189 recently issued the following announcement.
Notice of Public Hearing and Special Board Meeting on January 14, 2020 at 4:00 PM. The meeting will be to discuss the following topics:
- Public Hearing to receive public comments on a proposed application for waiver of the
requirements of section 27-6(a) of the Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/27-6(a)) to excuse
pupils enrolled in grades 11 and 12 from engaging in physical education courses in order to
attend academic elective courses for post-secondary preparation.
- Consideration of Application for Waiver or Modification of State Board Rules and/or
School Code Mandates.
