The data shows that the seven released offenders living in East Saint Louis zip code were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age was 43. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man convicted of a crime against justice in 2019, and the oldest was a 59-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was James Taylor. He was convicted of a property crime in 2015, when he was 46 years old. He is now 51.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
