Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in zip code 62040?

There were 19 offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live near Illinois zip code 62040, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that 14 men and five women were released in Granite City zip code. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jody Rinderer. He was convicted of homicide in 1996, when he was 18 years old. He is now 42.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
